What happened to WeTransfer Portals?
WeTransfer discontinued Portals and Reviews in December 2025. All portals, comments, and approval history were permanently deleted. 8fs Portals does the same thing: multi-file branded pages with client annotation and approval: at $12/month flat, with no client login required.
How do client portals work?
You create a portal, give it a name and a slug (e.g. 8fs.io/p/spring-campaign), then add files from your uploads. Share the link with your client. They open a branded page, view each file inline, leave pinned comments or timestamped video notes, and click Approve or Request changes per file. You get an email notification for each action. No client account needed.
What file types are supported?
PDFs, ZIP archives, images, videos, Office files, and design exports all work. Executables (.exe, .sh, .bat) and HTML files are blocked — executables are a malware vector and HTML could be used to serve phishing pages. File size caps: 25 MB on Free, 500 MB on Pro, 2 GB on Studio.
Does the free plan really last forever?
Yes. The free plan has no trial period and no expiry: it's free for as long as you use it. You get 5 delivery links, 1 GB of storage, and all the core features. No credit card required. When you outgrow it, upgrade. Until then, nothing changes.
What do clients see when they open the link?
A clean branded delivery page: your agency name, the file title, a note from you, and a download button. No 8fs login screen, no app install, no third-party branding. Any client on any device can open it in one click.
Can I use a custom domain?
Custom domains (e.g. deliver.youragency.com) are available on the Studio plan. You point a CNAME at 8fs, we handle SSL and routing. Studio also lets you run multiple brands each with their own domain: and removes all 8fs branding entirely.
How is client data handled?
Files are stored on Cloudflare R2: enterprise-grade object storage on the global edge. We store only the email used to upload, the file itself, and an upload timestamp. We don't profile or re-market to your clients. They never interact with us directly.
